This Spring, SCL was excited to be involved in two different design projects with teenagers as clients.  The teen years are not easy and most teens need space for quiet, study and privacy!  Often their bedrooms have not been updated since early childhood and are in need of a remake.

SCL was involved with two separate design projects that involved teenage girls.

The first project was for two teenage sisters and included a suite of 2 bedrooms, a shared bathroom and spacious study/media room.  The second space was for a teenage daughter of a long standing client.  This project included renovating an existing bath and bedroom.

The teen area for the the two sisters was designed for them to have a place to sleep, study, watch TV and hang out with friends.  The girls wanted it to be colorful, fun and relaxing–but with homework in mind too.  So, we designed it with built-in desks.  The girls had fun selecting fabrics, furniture, paint and lighting.  The space showcases their upbeat and happy personalities.

Our other client was a teenage girl with two small brothers.  She was in need of a little privacy and a quiet place to study. She opted for a style with a vintage, bohemian vibe for her bathroom and bedroom.  She was completely involved with selecting the tile, vanity, fixtures–and so much more.  It beautifully reflects her spirit and personality, but was also thoughtfully designed to maximize space and storage.
