I love spring.

The days are longer, the grass is greener and the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Mother Nature has hit the refresh button and we all rejoice! There is something promising in the air and every year I am surprised how much better I feel when this miracle happens. It is like waking up from a long nap…energized and renewed.

This cycle of awakening seems to affect us at SCL too. Our eyes are wide open as we begin the hunt for what’s new and fresh in the world of design. We love seeing the new Spring fabric collections and, of course, nothing is more invigorating than our trip to the Furniture Market in High Point, NC. (We leave next week, so be sure to look for us on Facebook and Instagram!)

On a more local level, we recently attended the Spring Market Day at the Washington Design Center. Take a look under What’s Happening at SCL to see highlights. It was truly a feast for the senses.

And speaking of the senses, please check out the piece on Sensory Design in our Design Industry Spotlight. This is a new movement in interior design that promotes engaging all 5 senses to achieve wellness in places where we live and work. It is fascinating.

There is so much to discover in this month’s newsletter, including everything you ever wanted to know about tile in Kim’s Pearls, Life on the Grid — The Beauty of Tile.

So please read on. I think you will find it refreshing!
